"Where is he?" Kylen asked. Dare could hear the Fae close by so he must be kneeling beside him.

Where are you? For the first time Dare tried to initiate contact. Always before the demigod had been the one in control.

In the castle tower. Gallien's answer, softer than before, drifted into Dare's mind.

"He's in the castle tower," Dare repeated. "Is there more than one tower?"

"Yes." Kylen's voice had a hard tone. "But only one they'd dare to put him in."

"Why's that?" Steven asked.

"Because you can't get into it unless you're royalty,"

Kylen explained.

"Luckily, we've got some royals on our team,"

Steven said.

"Good thing," Kylen agreed.

Steven helped Dare to his feet. "Come on, love. The sooner we find Anthony's father the quicker we can get the hell out of here and return to our normal lives."

Dare wondered if anything would be normal ever again. He decided to keep that thought to himself, no reason to crush his mate's slim bit of hope.
